Obeying God’s Word

posted in: Uncategorized 0

Sometimes obeying God is pretty straightforward. It may not be easy, but it at least makes sense. Other times, it seems that what God is asking us to do is completely absurd. It either seems to contradict what He has said or commanded somewhere else (think of Abraham sacrificing Isaac), or it seems likely to kill us (think of the Israelites stepping into the Red Sea). Yet even in the times when it is difficult to make sense of what God is demanding of us, we can rest in His faithfulness to His character and His Word. If the biblical examples say anything at all, it is that these high risk circumstances are always high reward, as God uses them to shape us into something that brings honor and glory to His name and impacts the world around us. Rest in the good character and true Word of God; He’ll never let you down.
